Kira Taiwo, daughter of popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker Taiwo Hassan, popularly called Ogogo, has made an urgent appeal for medical assistance after her father was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
This was revealed in an emotional video posted on social media on Monday night. In the video, Kira said doctors informed the family that they can no longer administer chemotherapy to him because his condition has deteriorated badly.
Taiwo Hassan is regarded as one of the major figures in Nigeria’s movie industry, particularly in Yoruba-language films, with a career spanning over forty years.
Kira spoke about her sadness over her father’s health and appealed to medical professionals, hospitals, and traditional healers who have effective treatment options to come forward to help the veteran actor.
“Please, we are begging you, if you know who can treat him—the hospital is saying that they can’t give him chemo again. Kindly send me or @limataiwo_ a DM or call 07031328196. Please, we are not begging for money,” Kira stated in her emotional plea.
She stressed that the family is not seeking financial donations or public funds. What they need, she said, is effective medical treatment or alternative therapy that can help save her father’s life.
