House of Reps Declare Appointment Letter of Self-Proclaimed DG Fake

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee probing the alleged activities of the disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council has declared the appointment letter submitted by the council’s self-proclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi , as fake

‎This was disclosed  on Wednesday by the  committee’s Chairman, Yusuf Gagdi,  during the continuation of the investigative hearing in Abuja.

‎According to Gagdi, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who appeared before the panel for the second time, also stated that the documents presented by Adeyemi were not genuine.

‎“It was established that the so-called letter of appointment was fake, confirmed by different agencies, and the Act presented to the Head of Service was equally fake, forged by the DG; it was established,” Gagdi said.

‎Walson-Jack appeared before the committee in compliance with its summons to make her final submissions on the matter.

‎Also present at the hearing were Deputy Commissioner of Police Olufemi Akinola and Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi, representing the Inspector-General of Police.

‎Tripod times reports that Adeyemi  was not present at the hearing.

‎The committee had on Monday described the establishment and operation of the supposed council as a serious breach and directed the Inspector-General of Police to produce Adeyemi within 2 days.

‎Lawmakers said his appearance was necessary to explain how the council allegedly obtained official recognition and processed government correspondence as the investigation continues.
