Women are currently leading the number in the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise in Adamawa State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) local governments’ registration documents made available to The Tripod Times, revealed that as of July 2nd, 2026, a total of 22,527 women registered, while 20,853 men registered.
The total number of people captured is given as 43,380 as of 2nd July 2026.
According to the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, the CVR exercise was organised to ensure that those who clocked the age of 18 after the last general elections participate in the forthcoming poll.
He said, “the CVR exercise’s main purpose is to ensure that some youths who could not participate in the last general elections due to their age are allowed to participate after meeting the constitutional provisions of 18 years before voting in an election”.
The CVR enables those who change their residences to transfer their voter’s card to their new places, and those who lost their voter’s card get them replaced during the exercise.
The exercise was designed to ensure that Nigerians who are eligible to vote participate in the general elections to vote for their leaders.
