The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has raised the alarm over illegal activities involving the encroachment and purported sale of the University land by unauthorised
individuals.
In a public advisory, FUNAAB Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, noted that on 12th June, 2026, land grabbers unlawfully entered and began clearing portions of FUNAAB’s land bordering the Ogun-Osun River Basin Authority, falsely claiming authority under the State Government.
The University said on 25th June, 2026, after the it erected signboards declaring “This land belongs to FUNAAB and is not for sale”, the land grabbers removed the signboards and commenced demolition of sections of the University’s perimeter fence.
According to the university, no portion of its land was put up for sale, warning the public against encroachers and advising members of the public from entering into any agreement detrimental to safeguarding its mission of education, research, and service to the nation.
