Dangote Slashes Diesel Price to N1,700 Per Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has cut its Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) gantry price by N80, from N1,780 to N1,700 per litre, effective Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The 4.5 per cent reduction comes amid falling diesel import costs and volatility in the international crude oil market, with Brent crude trading around $100 per barrel after briefly dropping to about $98.

The latest cut brings Dangote’s diesel price close to import-parity levels and marks the refinery’s second reduction within a month. Data from the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria showed that estimated spot landing costs for diesel fell by N127.28 per litre in two days, from N1,823.68 on September 30 to N1,696.40 on October 2.

The price reduction could trigger further cuts in depot prices and ease diesel costs for businesses, bulk consumers and other users who depend heavily on AGO for power and operations. Dangote Refinery said corresponding credit values for affected unloaded gantry volumes would be communicated separately.
