As Nigeria marks her 66th Independence Anniversary today, October 1, 2026, Tripod Times joins Nigerians at home and abroad to celebrate the nation’s journey, resilience and hope for a better future.
Since gaining independence in 1960, Nigeria has experienced significant achievements as well as challenges across various sectors. Despite these challenges, Nigerians continue to demonstrate resilience, creativity and determination to contribute to the growth and development of the nation.
The Independence anniversary is also a time to reflect on the values that can strengthen Nigeria, including peace, unity, justice, integrity and responsible citizenship. Building the Nigeria we desire remains a collective responsibility.
