OWODE EGBA — In a strategic bid to expand grassroots development and create sustainable economic pathways for the younger generation, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunsola, has taken the potentials of his local government area to the global stage.
This latest international drive focuses on securing high-impact investments in youth empowerment, technology, and vocational education from prominent industrial sectors in China.
The diplomatic and investment mission underscores Chairman Ogunsola’s governance blueprint, which prioritizes human capital development and global partnerships. Following a similar investment-seeking tour to the United States, this Asian outreach aims to leverage China’s advanced technological and manufacturing frameworks to establish localized empowerment hubs back home in Ogun State.
Speaking on the objective of the mission, Ambassador Ogunsola emphasized that sustainable grassroots growth is impossible without equipping the youth with 21st-century skills.
“We are building a future where our youth do not just wait for opportunities, but are actively empowered to create them,” Ogunsola stated. “China has demonstrated unmatched efficiency in grassroots industrialization and youth-driven technology. By bridging the gap between Obafemi Owode and international partners, we are setting the foundation for structural growth, job creation, and technical education that will benefit our communities for generations.”
During the mission, the council boss engaged in critical roundtables with trade unions, youth development agencies, and tech-driven investors. The discussions centered on setting up vocational exchange programmes, expanding access to information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, and attracting agricultural technology to Obafemi Owode—a region heavily populated by vibrant, enterprising youth.
Stakeholders and community leaders back home have praised the administration’s proactive stance. Obafemi Owode is increasingly positioning itself as a forward-thinking hub within Ogun State, directly aligning with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s broader vision of subnational economic transformation and digital inclusion.
With the groundwork now laid in China, residents and youth organizations look forward to the implementation of these bilateral frameworks, which promise to transform the socio-economic landscape of the local government area.
