Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba will be buried in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026. This was disclosed by her family on her Instagram page on Monday.
They also announced that Osoba’s body would leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am, while the burial service would hold from 10am to 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.
Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, died at the age of 40 in early August 2026.
The actress and producer had been in the Nigerian film industry for nearly twenty years and featured in productions including Oogun Mi.
Tripod times reports that Osoba had publicly battled breast cancer about two years before her death and had sought support for treatment and surgery.
She announced her recovery in August 2025 and return to acting, describing the period as one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.
The circumstances surrounding her death, however, have remained disputed, with conflicting accounts from her fiancé and members of her family.
Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, claimed that she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while relatives gave a different account of her final hours.
Tripod times reported that the contradicting reports had raised questions about the events leading to her death.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi had also called for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding the actress’ death.
The family warned the public against circulation of unverified claims about the circumstances surrounding her demise and urged the public and media to rely on information released through its official channels.
