ABUJA, NIGERIA —
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a fresh weather advisory forecasting three consecutive days of thunderstorms and moderate-to-heavy rainfall across Nigeria.
The three-day outlook, released by the agency’s headquarters on Sunday, warns of varying weather conditions that will impact the Northern, Central, and Southern regions.
On Monday, the northern region is predicted to experience sunny skies with intermittent cloud cover in the morning. However, morning thunderstorms and moderate rain are slated to hit parts of Taraba, Adamawa, and Kaduna.
Meanwhile, widespread thunderstorms will extend to Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, and Kano by afternoon and evening.
In the southern Region, the agency said a cloudy start to the week would give way to morning rain over Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Lagos, and Bayelsa.
This is just as moderate rains are expected across the entire southern territory later in the day.
For Tuesday, NiMet said morning thunderstorms will continue over Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Adamawa, and Taraba while Wednesday is expected to have widespread thunderstorms and moderate rainfall are expected across the entire region later in the day.

Monday: Thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains will impact Niger, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the morning hours. Widespread thunderstorms will blanket the rest of the region as the day progresses.
Tuesday & Wednesday:
The agency anticipates continued cloudy conditions interspersed with heavy downpours and strong winds during afternoon hours.
