Abia Varsity Suspends Lecturer for Claiming Tricyclists Earn More than Professors

Abia State University, (ABSU) has suspended Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze of the Department of Economics, for his Facebook post alleging that some professors in the institution earn less than N400,000 per month.

Tripod Times reports that the Prof was said to have claimed that the cumulative earnings of some tricyclists (Keke riders) are higher than what professors receive in Abia State University.

The management of the institution has, however, declared the social media posts by Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze injurious to the interests of the ivory tower.

An investigative panel has, therefore been constituted to examine the matter, according to a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer/Deputy Registrar of the institution, Chijioke Nwogu.
