Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) must not come at the expense of truth, wisdom, conscience and moral intelligence while raising the child.
Tripod Times reports that Governor Abiodun made the call on Sunday at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake, Abeokuta during the 50th Anniversary Thanksgiving of Egba Anglican Diocese, calling for a greater synergy between the church and government, in order to raise disciplined, cultured and responsible youths.
According to the Governor, religious organizations should take a keen view in building character, stronger families and inculcating good morals in the youths, just as the government owes it a duty to provide infrastructure, quality education and economic opportunities.
“The future we seek to build must be a future where technological advancement is matched by moral advancement; where artificial intelligence does not replace human wisdom, conscience and responsibility,” he said.

He further let out that societal development goes beyond physical infrastructure like roads and bridges but intentional investment in character and human capital.
He warned that the rapid advancement of technology and artificial intelligence must not come at the expense of truth, wisdom, conscience and moral intelligence.
A six-floor Cathedral Tower commemorative plaque was also unveiled by the Governor as part of the golden jubilee anniversary which coincides with the year Ogun State celebrated 50 years of creation.
In his sermon, titled, “The Call Like Moses and the Strength Like Caleb,” the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, charged the followers of Christ to take God’s work more seriously and be ready to do his will without fear and with renewed hope..
